Draft Rudy Giuliani was founded in January 2022 to do one thing and do it well: cover the legal career of Rudolph W. Giuliani with the seriousness it has long deserved and the scrutiny it has rarely received. We are not a fan site. We are not a prosecutorial blog. We are an independent subscription publication, built around the documentary record of one of the most consequential — and most contested — legal careers in modern American politics.
Our editorial scope is narrow by design. We follow the cases, the filings, the public statements, the courtroom theatrics, and the strategic maneuvering — from the 1980s organized-crime trials through the September 11 mayoralty and into the Trump-era legal wars that now define the late chapters of the file. We draw a hard line at sealed records, sealed grand jury material, and any private legal strategy we cannot independently verify. We do not speak for Giuliani, his law practice, or his associates. We do not claim affiliation, endorsement, or representation. We quote only what is already in the public record, and we annotate it.

Methodology
Every piece published in the Insider Briefing follows a four-step sourcing workflow. First, sourcing: claims of fact are tied to a primary document — a court filing, a hearing transcript, a press release, a verified public statement, or a contemporaneous news report. Second, verification: each cited document is independently retrieved by our archive editor and cross-referenced against the master Giuliani Files catalog. Third, annotation: where a filing needs context — a prior ruling, a known witness, a procedural posture — that context is added in-line and bracketed, never paraphrased into the underlying text. Fourth, legal review: any article touching an active proceeding is reviewed by at least one member of the legal advisory board before publication.
The Giuliani Files archive itself is curated on a rolling basis. New statements, motions, and exhibits are added within 72 hours of public release. We have published the first full annotated transcript of the 2024 Fulton County hearing within six hours of release, and we maintain dedicated sub-archives for the 2024 New York classified-documents proceedings and the 1980s–90s organized-crime trial record.
Corrections Policy
We are imperfect, and we say so plainly. When we get a fact wrong, we correct it openly, at the top of the corrected article, with a dated note that names the original error, the corrected version, and the source that surfaced the discrepancy. We do not silently edit published copy. Substantive corrections carry an italicized "Correction" tag visible above the lede; minor typographical fixes are recorded in the public corrections log.
